Flow in confinement

After hearing a radio4 programme on a prisoner who was spending 23h out of 24 in his cell, and spending many of these hours doing yoga, taichi, meditating etc.. I started to explore the idea of moving in a very small space. I was moving from one side to the other, releasing gradually one set of muscles by transfering the tension to another part of my body, exploring the full extent of the movements that the small confined space allowed. The film we made reflects the essence of someone who is entrapped in something, emprisoned yet flowing. I made my breath audible, and it expressed the tension in my movements. I then edited in the sound of my heartbeat, to better translate the tension and exhersion.
